St. Michaels is one of the "must see" towns on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay and the St. Michaels Marina is one of the major marinas in the heart of the harbor. Access into the harbor from the Miles River is well marked with plenty of water and the marina is on your port side as you enter. There are a number of restaurants adjacent to the docks and it is generally a party atmosphere on the weekends. The town shops and more restaurants are a few short blocks away along with beautiful and historic homes. It is enjoyable to walk through town and take it all in. I would suggest a stop at the Lyons Distillery and Tasting Room. During non-COVID times they offer tastings of their various rums. We particularly like their "Rock and Rum" and make sure to purchase a bottle each year to add to our warm holiday apple cider.
The marina's amenities include a fuel dock with pump out facilities along with a modest swimming pool and a number of restaurant choices. We have always been impressed with the assistance provided by the able dockhands. They do a nice job getting the boats into some of the tight confines. The marina has fixed docks which include slips and T-heads for a variety of boat sizes. They also have a long dock for the largest yachts. During times of extra high tides, some of the docks have flooded and water can run up into the adjacent parking lot.
The Chesapeake Maritime Museum is located across the harbor and is a good place to learn about the maritime history of the area.
