Old Port Cove Marina - North Palm Beach, FL
This marina is just to the east of the ICW in North Palm Beach at the north end of Lake Worth, and a wonderful place to stop. Reservations were made through Dockwa and communication with the marina was very easy. This marina caters to yachts of all sizes, including super yachts, and the excellent service reflects it. Check-in was problem-free and included a complimentary bottle of wine - your choice of red or white. There are two separate docking basins, separated by about a quarter mile, and there is a fuel dock at the entrance to the south basin of the marina. We did not use it. Pump outs can be scheduled at your slip and you do not need to be on board for the service. The floating docks are perhaps some of the nicest we have experienced and the bathroom facilities were excellent. There is a small workout room with various machines in the bathhouse building and a gas grill is available for your use. The marina is surrounded by a number of high-rise residences in a gated community with 24 hour security. A number of restaurants and stores are located within long walking distance. There is a bar and grille located on the marina premises. Transient guests are permitted to use the facilities at the North Palm Beach Country Club which is about a half mile walk, but the pool and restaurant are superb. We have stayed at this marina twice and were assigned to slips in both the north and south basin. The only negative is that the north basin is a good hike to the bathhouse. Upon departure, you can quickly rejoin the ICW and head north towards Jupiter, south towards Fort Lauderdale, or transit around Peanut Island and head out the Lake Worth Inlet to the Atlantic Ocean. |
