Morehead City Yacht Basin, Morehead City, NC

This marina is just a short distance off of the ICW near the Beaufort Inlet and across from the town of Beaufort. It mainly caters to large sportfisher boats, but has transient slips and a long dock available for cruisers. It is located in a basin on the south side of the ICW as you approach the Inlet. We were able to conveniently refuel in our slip and pumpout service is available. The dockhands and staff were very helpful and made us feel welcome. It is a good spot if you are looking to jump out through the safe and well-maintained inlet for an ocean passage. Reservations were made by calling the marina directly. Bathroom and shower facilities are available as is free WIFI. We were able to take advantage of the BoatUS discount during our stay. A courtesy car is available for a fee if you need to provision. There is a grocery store just a couple of miles away, and a restaurant adjacent to the marina. There are a couple of other restaurants in the vicinity. Our stay here was very short (quick overnight), so we did not take advantage of any of them.
