The River Marsh Marina in Cambridge, MD is a part of the very large Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort property. Marina guests, after paying the appropriate resort fee, have access to the Hyatt amenities. There a number of both indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, bar and restaurants. Food and bar service is available at the pool. There is also a waterfront recreation area with various water toys for use in the beach area.
The marina has a number of fixed docks of various sizes, surrounded by a couple of long floating concrete docks that can accommodate a number of boats. We have always been assigned the floating dock, closest to the marina office, bathroom and laundry facilities. Another long floating dock extends out and is adjacent to the hotel area. You can also find grills and picnic tables near the marina office. Another restaurant is located above the marina office.
To get to the marina and Hyatt resort, you cruise up the Choptank River, past the turn to go to Oxford, past the town of Cambridge on the right, pass under the Route 50 bridge, and immediately head to starboard. You enter the marina through an opening between the floating docks. You will see a large gazebo structure at then entrance to the marina basin. We have had a few calm cruises on the Choptank, but we have also experienced conditions that must have been the reason for the river's name. The floating docks do a pretty good job of protecting the marina from any wakes or swells coming from the river.
The downtown area of Cambridge is pretty far from the resort, requiring a drive. On one of our trips, the hotel was able to call a shuttle bus for us. It is nice little town with many historic homes and buildings. It also has a few shops and restaurants to enjoy and the harbor area is a short walk from the town center.
