Palm Cove Marina, Jacksonville, FL
Palm Cove is a major working marina just off the ICW right at the Beach Blvd. Bridge. They have a very large high and dry operation with constant working forklifts moving boats around from storage to the water to the stands. There are a number of transient slips available, however transients are limited to a 30 day stay. The marina does not permit live-a-board boaters. There is a fuel dock with pump out. Be advised that weekends are very busy and you may have to wait in line for fuel. Some cruisers, especially sailboaters, have been concerned with the entry channel depth at low tide. It would be best to plan an arrival or departure with that in mind. There are private bathroom and shower facilities, a nice laundry and a boaters' lounge with books, TV and tables to work at. There is a small pool and a poolside gas grill. The Isle of Palms boatyard with service capabilities and travel lift is next door. Walgreens is about a quarter mile away on the same side of the highway. Publix is on the other side along with a few restaurants. West Marine is about 3/4 mile away. We kept our boat here from November through February and were treated very well by the marina staff. We felt very comfortable leaving the boat at the marina for extended periods of time. |
