Safe Harbor Charleston City Marina, Charleston, SC

If you like being around big yachts, this is the place to go. Many refer to this marina as the mega dock due to the very long dock on the outside of the marina, and you can understand why when you are there. It is a massive marina with boats and yachts of all sizes, including super yachts. With that type of clientele, the staff are very capable and accommodating. We were docked on the long mega dock, which can be a little rolly at times with the wakes of passing boats (despite the no wake zone). I'm not sure the super yachts feel the wake as much as we do. Bathroom and shower facilities were fairly close by and were very nice. They are situated on the docks and did not require a long walk to shore. There are a couple of restaurants close by and a small convenience store. The downtown area of Charleston is a decent walk and fine on a good day. A nice walk along the water will give you great views of the wonderful Charleston homes and architecture. However, there is a van service available if you wish to use it. It was not running at the time we were there. The docks are gated with a code required for entry, and the marina has free WIFI as well as fuel and pump out services at the dock.
