Myrtle Beach Yacht Club, Myrtle Beach, NC
The Myrtle Beach Yacht Club is located right off the ICW in one of the safest harbors we have ever been in. It seems a little confusing at first, but basically you travel straight down the center fairway to arrive at their fuel dock. There are a few different marinas in the harbor, so you will have to get exact directions when you hail the marina. Their diesel fuel price was very good and one of the best we came across on our trip north. The dockhand was excellent and got us tied up expertly. There was a fairly significant tide swing, but no current to deal with. The yacht club has a modest ships store, laundry and clean bathroom/shower facilities. They also have a restaurant on the premises and it is available to transients while they are visiting. There is another restaurant nearby. The entire harbor is surrounded by apartment/condominium properties and provide quite a bit of protection. There are no stores nearby for provisioning, but a friendly slipholder offered to take us to the store if necessary. The only negative was that we were not able to access the WIFI. Our ATT cell signal was not full strength, but satisfactory. TV reception was very limited. |
