Regatta Point is a very pleasant marina with convenient floating docks, a nice marina office and lounge, and clean bathhouse. In addition, we enjoyed relaxing in the small pool on a hot summer day. The staff was very accommodating and helped us get settled in. We took advantage of the gas grills that are available for marina guests. |
Although surrounded by many marinas and boatyards, Regatta Point is fairly isolated. Town services are a good distance away and require ground transportation. We took advantage of the rocking chairs on the veranda of the marina lounge after a quiet dinner. This is an obvious gathering spot for the regular slip holders.
The marina is very convenient to the Bay with easy access via a narrow, marked channel from the Rappahannock River. Some shoaling has been reported, so be sure to follow the navigational aids.
Norview Marina next door has a fuel dock, but it was under construction during our last visit and we had to go further up Broad Creek to Chesapeake Cove Marina to get fuel. It was barely accessible for us being a little tight and shallow. Larger boats would definitely struggle some getting in and out. If I go there again, I will turn around before getting to the fuel dock and back in the last 50 yards or so.
