You need to use Dockwa to make reservations at the mooring field of nine balls, although I did see the dockmaster take payments from boats that just showed up and tied up to one. He told me that he occasionally has to ask a boat to leave that did not make a reservation to make room for those that did, and he seems to monitor the field pretty closely. We had to fight some strong winds when tying up, but it gave me confidence regarding the integrity of the mooring balls. It is a fairly safe harbor with a no wake zone throughout. We did not experience much rocking. Obviously, there are no services and the dinghy dock was not in service during our visit. Our ATT signal was strong and worked well for cellular access. If you are looking for a cost-effective overnight stay without need for amenities, this is a good choice.
