Safe Harbor Harbortown - Fort Pierce, FL
Most recent visit: December 3, 2025 Safe Harbor Harbortown in Fort Pierce is conveniently located right off the ICW and provides direct access to the easily navigable Fort Pierce Inlet. The marina has a fuel dock with pump out service and there is a restaurant on site. We decided to try Harbortown on this trip as the City Marina is well-known for a fast current that can create challenging docking situations. There were no current issues this time, but we were told that the current can be swift here as well. The marina boasts excellent floating docks with access to shore facilities including bathrooms, showers, laundry and gym. Key fobs are required to access the docks. This is a bit problematic at departure since you have to drop the key fob off at the office, but still need access to the dock. It is a two-person task and a bit inconvenient. The marina charges a fee for unreturned fobs. Our first fob did not work so we traded it for another, however this confused the marina's tracking system and we were charged for a fob. Fortunately, this was resolved with a phone call, however their system may need some tweeking. The marina staff is very helpful with both fueling and docking assistance. The marina has free WiFi access, however it was unreliable during our stay. Over the air television came from Palm Beach and was pretty strong. Our ATT signal was very good. As of this stay, there was still quite a bit of bridge construction taking place next to the marina. Though not impossible, it can be a challenge to get to Publix without ground transportation. The marina is not convenient to downtown Fort Pierce. If you wish to take advantage of the downtown area, the City Marina may be a better choice. |
